Any excitement or joy I could have over a finished Hidden Palace Zone being included in Taxman’s Sonic 2 is completely overshadowed by the explosion of rage I feel over it being trapped on smartphones.

I want to play this on something with real controls. With a d-pad, or even an analog stick! Put it on the Wii U! Something! AAaargh!

Servbots from Marvel Vs Capcom 3!

These are modified to work on the Valve biped skeleton, so rig_biped_simple works just fine on them.

    Go grab them here!

    Because she’s so cute, I made a wallpaper of Freedom Planet's Lilac. Sorry if it's too sparkly. 1920x1200 | 1600x1200 | 1366x768 | 1280x1024

    Freedom Planet Kickstarter

So I normally don’t post too much video game stuff on this blog (that’s usually what I do on Twitter or Facebook, as that’s my primary hobby besides writing/Avatar stuff), BUUUUUT this is important.

Freedom Planet is a project an old friend of mine has been working on for some time. It started out as a Sonic fan-project but he’s edited and evolved it since then to be a Sonic/MegaMan/Gunstar Heroes inspired pixelated 2D platformer made from love. This friend being someone who was one of the very first supporters of my writing works via the Internet, way back in, like, middle school or some such. And his game is coming along great, to the point where he has finally started up his Kickstarter page for it.

Oh, and the game will feature three playable heroines — you know, female heroes, defined by their abilities and charm rather than sexuality? Kind of a rare thing to see in video games, and I’d like to keep seeing more of it.

Check it out, watch the video, play the demo, and you’ll see what I mean when I say that this is an indie game to look out for — it’s got soul but also tight play to it, and indie games like this are now finally able to start breaking out and finding success thanks to crowdfunding. This game’s got that cutesy 90’s Saturday morning charm — and the colorful creativity that often comes with that — that’s lacking in a lot of modern games.
